FYI, Amazon currently has 10 lb. bags of Scotts DiseaseEx on sale for $13.30 with free shipping for Prime members. Pretty good price if you're in need of some for next year..

If you plan on running a decent program next year I would buy now and store it. Box stores right now have enough inventory that you probably won't see a massive jump come spring, but it's possible. Once they rebuy you will see the shock value in prices come May to mid summer. There is already an alert out that there is a massive shortage of Prodiamine granular pre emergent. That's your Lesco Stonewall and Barricade. If you like that, which I do I would buy it now and store it. Fertilizer prices across the board are skyrocketing and will be at the retail level soon. I would get the product you like now and buy enough for 2022 and save it. I'm stocked and ready. These reports have not gotten better the past weeks/months. https://www.dtnpf.com/agriculture/w...2/15/nitrogen-fertilizer-prices-continue

Is my Bermuda grass dormant?
Can I hit all the green stuff in the yard with weed killer Wednesday when it starts to warm up?
I believe I am dealing mostly with dallis grass and crab grass.
I have not ran the sprinklers since October.
Part of the area I will treat get sprayed daily by the septic system and never fully dries out.
This is the area where I think the Bermuda is still growing.
We just want the yard to be all dead or a uniform color this time of year.
A five spot for a shot and a beer? And you wonder how we wound up here.

Mines not dormant yet. It's getting there but I've only has one freeze and frost. Your location you've probably have had a few more freezes and frost. You're probably not dealing with much crab. First frost typically will take it out. Dallis does typically stay green and go dormant well after bermuda. You should be good to go to spot spray or use a bingo dauber marker. What weed killer are you looking at using?

round up
Everywhere I have manually removed the dallis grass the Bermuda filled in nicely.
Unfortunately with life I no longer have the time it takes to go and pull every cluster up and am looking for a chemical solution.

You're good to go. No way I'm hand pulling more than 2-3 weeds. I'm going chem route if more. Few application methods you could go with. Pre-mix bottle of round up from the box store. Mix your own 41% glyphosate in a gallon pump sprayer. Mix straight undiluted 41% gly on a dauber. Tape it to broom stick and walk around and dab the dallis and any others. I like the dab since you don't have to bend over. Dabs really work well in flower beds too. Here this guy is using a show polish bottle to dab. Which is fine. bingo daubers is what I have used.

My neighbor uses that method. To make it more fun he calls out a letter and number before he daubs every weedโฆthen after daubing he yells BINGO!

End of the year thoughts and plans for next year?
How did your lawn come out of the hard freeze from last year and preform? Did you push your lawn harder or less hard with fertilizers, weed killers, watering, and so on. If so with either way, what were the results. Good/bad things indifferent you will/won't do next year? Things you want and or planning on improving next year?
Me. I had an ok year. I got a new to me mower and was experimenting a lot on the different heights of cut with it. Did a July hard scalp and the lawn looked horrible for a couple weeks but bounced back nicely. I backed down on the fert and I could see a performance difference. Mine is bermuda 419 I assume with some patches of common mixed in. My ultimate goal will be to mark the common patches and kill it off and plug it with the 419 and have a more total coverage of it. May or may not get to it as the lawn will look horrible for a solid 60-90 days or so if I do. Other than that I plan to push it a lot harder next year.

Hi Derekโฆitโs me, Sawhorse. Can we talk about weeds?
After using the same regimen Iโve used with great success in the past, that mofo failed me this year. I have quite a few (winter) weeds in the yard now.
Why did this happen and what can I do to prevent it from happening in the future? (For example, next winter, or the winter after thatโฆor really any of the winters that havenโt happened yet.)
Thanks, Sawhorse Family

Good afternoon Mr. Sawhorse. Hope you and your family are doing well.
What regimen are you using? Do you know what weeds you're dealing with? Need to make sure what regimen you're using covers the specific weed that you're battling.
If you want to link your product(s) and pics of the weeds we can ID them and go over the correct product. Some winter weeds there aren't a lot of good box store options. But lets see what you got and start there.

Here are the invasive plant species that have set up camp in my dormant lawn. The first one reminds me of a dandelion. The second one is only in an area surrounding my builder-installed flower bed. I thought I took a pic of a different weed (grassy weed) but when I got the film developed, it only showed a pic of my foot. Make no mistake, itโs an excellent looking footโฆjust not helpful for our purposes here. I used Barricade pre-emergent on the Derek schedule, but Iโve never calibrated the drop rate. I fill the hopper with fresh prills, close my eyes, spin the drop rate dial to a random settingโฆand then take off walking at a rate that mimics the rate a professional would go. I really have no idea if itโs right or notโฆbut to my neighbors, I look extremely confident. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2022/01/full-108306-123632-433bd6b3_2af5_49f1_bec8_3e2b5192175d.jpeg)
