I am fishing a club tournament on LBJ next weekend. 1st time on this lake. I've read the TPWD reports and studied my charts, but would appreciate any tips for the area. Also, is the water cool enough that the bass would be hanging out at the power plant outfall?
I plan to get there Friday in order to explore the lake and try a few interesting spots. Launching at Clear Cove Park.
Thanks to all.

I am curious what others have to say. I just bought a bass boat and have it on Lake LBJ. Been out a quite a few times in the last month and can't figure them out. Each day maybe catch one or two small fish. Going from a bank fisherman to a boat is overwhelming in the number of spots and techniques you have at your disposal. Then factor in seasonal transitions. Lots and lots of possibilities.
The water temp is high 60s to low 70s.

Shad balls everywhere with packs of 1 to 3 pound bass chasing them around. i can get a couple to bite but then they get wise to whatever i'm throwing.

Jerk bait and crank baits have produced some nice fish but ned rig is my most consistent bait but mostly smaller fish. I had a fella in a new bass tracker do some major potlicking on me Sunday so wanted to make sure that wasn't you.
