Perfect weather, highs in the 80s and the lows in the 50s . Couldn't help it, so we went camping/fishing We loaded up the boat and headed out. We found bluegills, coppernose, Rios, bass and crappie. The sunfish were holding close to the edge. The bigger ones were near the bottom. Leo caught a record Rio for the water body we were fishing on. He caught it on the "Mc jig" JIGLYF jig (yellow, red and white). We got all excited about it. Measured it and took pics then released it.
About 10 fish later I caught me a bigger Rio and beat Leo's record. I caught a 10in Rio on a 1/32oz purple haze and pink JIGLYF jig
We kept fishing and catching till it got dark. We found a good spot, tied off and had supper then comenc to fishing. We found the Crappie out roaming in the middle of the river. We were using 1/16 solid brown " The s**t" and 1/16 yellow/pink "pink lemonade" and other colors in a 1/8oz Casting into complete darkness no lights and feeling that thump in the dark is something special. The bite was hot until about 3:30 a.m steam started to come off the water and the bite quit. We set up our tent and crashed out. In the morning we cleaned up and did a little more fishing. We kept 35 keeper crappie the rest were released to swim another day. Here are videos of our camping/fishing trip.
