Like I said I know the lakes fairly well the fish will move from time time so may have to move from one spot or the other and the colder it gets deeper they go. Wind and movement is a must. If I have a south wind are a north wind I just set up to travel over same areas just opposite directions. I don't use my fish finder to look for the fish just to find how deep the water is. I usually have out 50 to 75 ft of line.
