That's the review I've been waiting for. Great breakdown. Hope HB can make some improvements with their updates; got some ground to make up.

I preordered live last year so I will use it whenever it comes in. If I know one thing about hummingbird mega its I have to adjust everything every time I fish. Color contrast and sensitivity. Everytime. But when i get it tuned I'm sure the live will be be everything I want it to be. Im not replacing my units with Garmin that's for damn sure.
When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip! #Brockstarama

I can see where the garmin is a little better than the lowrance , for me the lowrance makes the most sense, only want one graph up front, and the lowrance is a lot better than me as far as electronics go, plus it will cost a lot less, don't want two different brand of electronics on my boat. If I were a guide or a serious tournament angler I may have a different view.

Then got the 360 a fee months later after saving up.Then mega live came out so I ordered it. I have no reason to have the lowrance up front. I like their navigation features the best so I have the lowramce on the console. If that makes sense haha

I’ll see if I can load some footage that is great if I can figure out how to load a video here is some photos till I figure out how to load video. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/11/full-37920-117849-3081314d_9699_4779_9842_67bc4b5ecce2.jpeg)

If that makes sense haha I was referring to the guy that did the comparison, he used a lowrance unit that is less than half the price of an hds live unit, maybe it would not matter but I think the images would have been better

Then you flip it around and say that he could have used the better series of Garmins and had better images. Same for the mega live. I’ve seen guys complain about every scenario in the world, but yet, nobody else is willing to do their own test. The kid isn’t sponsored by any of them, his test is about as unbiased as one can get. Garmin guys complain that he had the Garmin gain set too high. Seen Lowrance guys try to claim that he used a different degree cant mount, bird guys complain that he should have adjusted the angle of the transducer. Can’t anyone be happy that he spent hours and hours trying something that nobody else has.

I’d be happy to go back to a single brand of graphs on my boat. It’s a PITA having 2 different brands. 16” carbons are around $2200, the 16” Garmin is $6k, I want the lowrance AT to be just as good as LS. I have yet to see it though, maybe I’m watching the wrong videos. I’m half way tempted to spend the $4k and see if they are really comparable.

Like I said before, the AT looks to be a hell of a lot better than I am, I am going with one unit, no way am I spending an additional 3-4 K to get something that I believe is minimal.

I don’t blame you and my rant wasn’t meant to be directed for you only. It’s such a beatdown reading anything and getting unbiased answers from owners. The sponsored guys on BBC are the biggest hosers, “he should have done this and this and this”.
