The only way to get both BASS & MLF on the same page is to get them……on the same page, as in consolidated as one league. That’s the plan I believe. One league; to me, and that makes the most sense. There’s only maybe 100 truly high level tournament anglers anyway. It’s the only way to drive the sponsorship dollars into one organization to achieve no entry fees etc. I think each is waiting on the other to cry “uncle”. Who will blink first? Duckett tried to buy BASS and make them MLF, not once, not twice but three times and was told no thanks everytime, I think that pissed him off. One thing that gets me about MLF is how it’s basically team Berkely/Abu vs team Strike King/ Lews. To me it’s just boring seeing the same old baits and lures except for Bryan Thrift throwing Damiki and Wheeler/DC throwing Googan. But maybe that was the long con. Level the playing field with the same advantage being same gear and baits. I just like the variety BASS Elites present as far as sponsors. Granted I’m not naive in knowing that pros absolutely do not exclusively throw sponsor baits This post makes no sense It absolutely does not

I guess Duckett should have offered more money if he wanted to buy BASS that badly.

Thats a bunch of horsesh#t, if they wanted to work together to prevent schedule conflicts they could, NPFL did it. In 2020 all kinds of sports did scheduling things they had exuses in the past that they couldn't do, nascar really comes to mind. BASS has 9 Elites, 9 Opens and the Classic 9(19), MLF has BPT 7 + Redcrest, TW Pro Circuit 7, Toyota Series 18, these are between the end of January - October and you think they could possibly sit down and schedule around each other. BASS and MLF are probably both already working on 2023. These schedules don't happen overnite.

[quote=SC-001] I think that's MLFs plan. If they schedule on top of BASS and split the viewers they figure they can survive longer than BASS. Just my opinion of course Maybe BASS has a spy at MLF and they are scheduling on top of MLF.

Very few people have the clout of power to get both organizations on the same page. I believe Johnny Morris could grab both of them by the sack & tell them he wants them to play nice.

From an outsiders perspective seems like BASS has kept on doing what BASS does....and it seems like MLF was trying to play the role of disruptor, but they may have overestimated their own utility in the ever tiny bass fishing world.

Just my opinion of course Maybe BASS has a spy at MLF and they are scheduling on top of MLF. When Duckett said that they did not want their anglers working at the Expo or fishing the Classic, that pretty much sums it up. It’s their business and they can choose to fail however they’d like. They have a record of saying stupid things: livewells bad, we aren’t after the fishing fan - we are after the non-fishing fans, it’s business and we absolutely are trying to beat BASS. Now add in how they are screwing the Pro-circuit guys to save their BPT anglers, they deserve to fail. And NO, BASS isn’t perfect either. They need to quit letting the old guys return under legends exemptions, if they no longer can compete. Fritts hasn’t done anything but suck and they keep letting him return, time to let more of the Open anglers in.

All this could be solved if the anglers from each organization stood together and basically went on strike until it was resolved. Ike has been wanting to get a union type group together for a while. Thats the only way the anglers truly have a voice. MLF proved it when they didn't allow the anglers input on certain things like they said they would, like bringing entry fees back. Anglers could make these entities schedule so guys could do both. I know there's bound to be negatives to anglers forming a union but there's a lot of positives as well if they organized it right

they had a chance with the PAA, which quickly turned into a [censored] show. You can't get five fisherman to agree on anything, much less 200 professionals.

Forgot the post...but seemed like ol BD taking advantage of a situation. am I thinking of the same thing, or something different? Boyd duckett shouldve never built an overly stiff rod that made me lose a biggen at the boat! I have no sympathy for him now and he does kinda seem like a greedy, out for his own best interests, slimey type of guys too....you really dont hear many good stories about the guy. Dont hear much charitable stuff (im sure he does do some charity stuff since its a write off), good stuff he does for the community, little anecdotal stories you hear about basically every other angler.....BUT....you do hear he likes that bent pole pattern plenty. I dunno 🤷♂️

The business plan was basically the FULL ego-Chall versus being calculated and well thought out. I legitimately think they couldve EASILY over taken BASS as the "big show" had they gone about it better. Funky scheduling, lack of live, delaying big events until they hit TV....just all the way around, they couldve done this better and 100% couldve overtaken BASS and you really cant convince me otherwise. Imagine all the NFL starters minus Baker Mayfield, Russell Wilson, Dalvin Cook and a few other well known but not superstar guys...leaving the NFL to start their own league. You think people arent insta tuning in to the new NFL to see their favorite players? im pretty sure they would. Feider and Zaldain are great...but they arent Ike (Aaron Rodgers) or KVD (Joe Montana) or Wheeler (Tom Brady).....and star power is a real thing in 2021! Im ranting....but in a nutshell MLF dropped the ball due to their own ego....from my outsiders perspective 🤷♂️

Im more talking those little anecdotal stories you hear here and there about these pro guys. the little things like the guys saying they ran into him at a ramp and it was a great experience and interaction. Hell...i feel like me and Jimmy Houston are best friends after my 3-5 minutes in his presence! LOL dont really hear those little "good guy" type stories about him...but there is plenty out there making him seem more money hungry. But yea, i get you. i got a friend who posts if he buys a homeless guy a meal every time....i done plenty for the homeless myself (basically just buying them meals if I spot them at the place im eating, im not mother teresa) but would never post that. So fully agree with that....just saying....I dont really hear much good about boyd duckett....plus, his rods lost me about an 8 pound spinner bait fish, and im holding him personally responsible
