I worked for Rainbo/Manor bread years ago. I used to get cases of that Manor Fruit Cake shoved into my truck every year. I would eventually wind up taking the loss and giving the damn things away. I hated them. It was automatically about a $500 hit on my paycheck. The metal “tins” they came in were cool though. Made for good storage containers. use to work across the street from Manor bread on Manor Way in Dallas. that was back in the 80's

soaked in spiced rum is the only way to consume

Do yourself a favor….
Put that Collin Street cake in the trash where it belongs.
Go to Beatrice bakery online and order a Grandma’s fruitcake. When you lift the lid, your senses are treated to the wonderful aroma of bourbon, brandy and rum.
Even people who hate fruitcake love the stuff.

I made the mistake of telling my grandmother that I liked a piece of fruitcake she gave me one year. I got a fruitcake every year until she died. One little piece is good and that's it.

Even people who hate fruitcake love the stuff. I was looking for one this yr. just ordered the 2# ring. I am another that actually likes a good fruitcake (hell, I hang out here with a bunch of em!) in moderation. fruitcake warmed up with real butter, eggnog with some capt. morgan.

I get one from Collin St. every year. Love'em! Of all the homemade vs Collins St. I have had The Collins St. is only one I will eat.
