Here is a (another) simple look at today: 1) Water level is good . 2) Water is 82 degrees. 3) Power plant circulating. 4) Beautiful weather, hardly any wind 5) Water is dingy, vegetation is nasty. 6) Fishing was tough. Six LMB total, again.

Thank you. It's good to hear about different places as opposed to 90% of trip reports being about one lake.

Thanks Rayzor, great report. Bastrop is hit or miss with me, lately miss. Usually do good when the PP is running, but the fish are smaller compared to last year. So I have passed on Bastrop and been going to Fayette, well worth the extra 45 minutes drive. I can still stop at Buc-ee's and get their brisket and egg breakfast taco(2).

We were there Sunday as well. My first time out fishing anywhere for about six weeks due to surgery.
Last few times out in late August, we only boated 6-10 each trip. Sunday, we boated 28 mostly 14-16" all in grass. One spot on the east side, we caught 11 before the sun cleared the tree tops including 4 casts/4 fish in a row for me. All fish caught were on soft plastics. Only fished four spots. Not much boat traffic.

Also saw lots of bird of prey. Hawks, a falcon, a few ospreys and two baldies circling high above which was cool to watch.

There used to be two pairs of Roadrunners in the North Park. Also one of my favorite birds that I don't see around Magnolia, the Scissor-tail Flycatcher. I do not expect fishing to pick up until about January. The water is till too warm.

I fished the ‘strop 10/24 and caught around a dozen fish in a couple of hours. Biting wacky rigs in shallow water and Carolina rigs deeper.
Went back out today and caught a total of one fish. Nobody I talked to was catching. Plant was circulating and water temp was 73 degrees with the sun high in the sky.
Lake had a terrible off-color murkiness to it. I suspect the lake is turning over with the cooler temps but I’m no expert.
