Yes, but might need some nudging to get right.

You can go the passive aggressive route and stop fishing, and start staring at the people moving in on you....and make sure they known youre staring at them. If you wanna go full passive aggressive, do the stare and then visually laugh shake your head in disgust and make a cast.

That usually does it for me. People are pretty chill at my lake, even the Jet Skiers dont bother me in my coves.

or you can be a man about it....if they really are crowding you, and ask if they could give you your space.

Both the passive aggressive, and stand up options have both worked for me. The stare usually does it...and they get it, but ive had to ask 2 guys to give me my space that cut me off/were fixing to cut me off. Caused no issue at all....and Ive had it done to myself as well (happened when I went to OH Ivie, dude straight asked me not to crowd them since it was already crowed. said yup, wished them tight lines and found a new hole.....empathy is a great thing)

Now with that said I can see how no can be the answer at the more popular bass lakes. A decent chunk of bass guys are pricks (i can speak from personal experience LOL) in day to day life and that translates to their fishing etiquette unfortunately. Lots of people are inconsiderate....and probably not as good of fisherman as they fancy themselves to be and I see fishing on top of one another seems to be more common at those popular bass lakes. Even when I was at Ivie, people were on top of each other. I get some of the spots looked like community holes...but meh, ill keep driving and find my own hole...but hey, im not part of the community LOL

I love this video! LOL

Ok I guess they were a bad example. I Just used Ben and Fish Hawk Joe because imo a “professional” guide would have seen him there and said”we will hit another spot real quick and then head there a little later.” Not come in full plane to the closest bank near him then intentionally troll to him. Plus I’ve seen some private conversations that if you were to read you would quickly decide who was a douche between the two.He was stacking those 1lb fish though off his bank hump 😂. Anyway like I said just an example since it was an easily accessible example.maybe I should have just left them out of my original question. So back on topic… Personally if I’m on a lake with little traffic on a weekday I’m going to give them their space. Like you said Frank most interactions are friendly but some are not and the people doing it are fisherman. The ones I would expect the most to give respect to other anglers.

It doesn’t exist in Dallas area. I’m always shocked when I’m up there about how big of “Richard’s” guys can be and how it’s just so accepted. “Ah that’s just how Fork is, Ah that’s just how Welsh is, Ah that’s just Lewisville on the weekends, Ah that’s just the bridge at Cedar Creek, etc. etc, etc.

just put a few .45 holes in their skeeter, it will stop.

just sayin. grin

happens all the time on fork, I will do my best to avoid anyone but in tournaments it's by the rules so I may be 75 yds from ya when I stop but will be moving the opposite direction and I don't come at ya on plane.
people now are too self absorbed to be nice a lot of the time, look at dam cell phones and driving, every dam phone sold comes with earplugs and bluetooth yet there they are with it glued to their dam ear not paying attention cuz "their special".

I’m not a local but when I lived in the area I fished it a lot. This would be about 2010-2012 never had any issues there. Times change though. Hell buddy, his wife and I were fishing jb Thomas. We all caught some good fish on some offshore stuff. About 10 minutes into being there we watch two guys paddle an Inflatable raft and come all the way out to us and when I mean all the way to us,I mean I could’ve poked them with my rod. Honestly that’s the [censored] that isn’t right. Especially by another fisherman.

gonna whup some arse? how do ya stop it? people are gonna be who they are no matter what you do, fork stays so crowded that it can be hard on a weekend to avoid people completely but you can keep your distance and still fish. it's those who think the lake is their private property that will whiz ya off, my hole, my dock, my my my. screw em, do what you think is right and ignore them best ya can, and enjoy the water.

in about 10 yrs. of fishing fork a lot, have a place there, I have only had 3 times others really bothered me enough to say or do something. worst was a moron in a new 20' g3 that cut me off while I was on plane at about 65, came out of white oak and cut right in front of me. I passed their stern about 1' away as I had no other choice and couldn't come off plane and maintain steering. passenger flipped me off and I circled around and invited him into my boat for a quick arse whuppin and lesson in boating law, I was on his right. had to quit the tournament due to the amount of anger he caused, next one I will just run over.

To look at it from the other side of the coin, I know that the good fishermen way outnumber the bad. I bring a $20 bill with me every time I go fish in my kayak or from the bank because more than once a boater has invited me to ride along for the day. No one has ever accepted the gas money at the end of the day.

I do my best to get along with other fishermen on the lake. But if somebody gets too close and I feel myself getting mad I move because
I don't want that anger to ruin my day on the water.

The wosrt I have been cut off was by a woman at Fork. I was maybe fifty yards from back of a small cove with noone in sight when she came right on in. She was driving while male partner was riding. I just fished on down then cut across the cove to the other side.

My favorite are the “graphers” that come by you staring at their graphs, hit the waypoint button when they get even with you, and then drive off. Y’all are not very sneaky, so quit acting like it….

The first picture is the least egregious example I've seen any time recently. I fish from the bank and I have people casting over me, standing next to me, and acting like I'm the rude one when I stare at them.

We have all been cutoff, and I would say everyone here has cut someone off, whether it was on purpose or not. Heck I have tried to be courteous and go around an individuals fishing, and they still get mad. I have had guy's get po'd at me cause i was fishing the opposite bank.

Key here is communication when possible, asking usually takes away any issues.
