Hey TFF, Back in June I purchased a 1997 Ranger 461. I am in the process of upgrading and updating it and will be putting the progress up on my youtube channel. Wanted to share it with anyone who might be doing the same thing and find it useful. If you have any tips please share a comment on my channel so everyone can read it. Here is the first episode:

Thanks James ! Wow…looks like you found a clean 461v !...good for you !!! those older boats were the best… I’m looking to do the same thing you are – refresh an old smaller boat, the ones that come to mind when we close our eyes and reminisce…LOL… it’s so sad that the bass boat companies have left a segment of the angling community out, in favor of the 20 + footer market… not everyone want’s a 20 footer ! This whole industry was founded on 17 to 18 foot 150hp class boats. Every manufacture had a full blown tournament model that fell in this size class… Ranger with their 350-360-370’s Series, 451V, 480’s, Champion’s 17’6 & 18’4’s, Strato’s 181, 279-280’s, and soo many more companies to list… I’m tired of my 520c, and want to downsize… but of all the manufactures today, only Bass Cat is offering a 17/18 foot boat with some styling and features ( the Bob Cat 17’7” rated for 150, and the Sabre at 18’1” rated for a 175hp )… it would be cool if Ranger would offer “special order” boats, call it “the classic series”, and dust off the old molds and spray up an old model, I’d pay todays inflated prices for brand new 451v or 361v !…and it really wouldn’t be hard for them, and would satisfy the small segment of the market who still wants a 150 class boat… and before someone says this or that mfg.’s is making 18 footers still, they are really 19 footers that need a 200 to get them to perform right… sorry OP didn’t mean to hijack your thread… I look forward to your upcoming video’s to watch that great old boat come back to life ! …please include more pulled back video showcasing that boat…
Maranatha !
