crappie are thick in the centex right now, 19, mostly 11 and 12 inch fish yielded almost 4.5 lbs of fillets. eggs are very , very small seasoned them up with my favorite mix, lemon pepper, tony chachere cajun seasoning, a little garlic powder, and chile powder. not hot chile powder, very mild. it gives fish an amazing flavor! will roll the fillets in Italian bread crumbs before dropping them in hot oil. 360. F I add heat later with my homeboy Dustin" the diamond " Poriers Louisiana hot sauce. might save some for some grilled fish tacos later in the week, or make some crappie crabby patties.. ITS ALL GOOD!!

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

What a sight to behold, CONGRATS Stay tuned, u havent seen nothing yet. ha my little town fire dept has fish frys now and then to raise money. they always run out of fish, im going to help them out. I will show them what a fish fry is. when my shed got hit by lightning they came with a 1 ton dually, with a 250 gallon tank on the back. couldnt drive thru my lot because it was muddy from rain. no hose to reach either,/ time for a real fire truck!

Some nice hogs in there! Wife and I spent a few hours on Belton yesterday as well. Spent a lot of time fishing that barren stuff you mentioned... Found one or two here and there, but nothing like your haul. Recently installed a Helix 10 MSI at the console and have it networked with the Ultrex. Still trying to learn how to use them together. I mark a tree or brush that looks like its holding fish on sidescan, then hit "go to spotlock" and the TM takes me there. Pretty darn good technology. Problem is, once the TM reaches the spotlock I cant find the dang tree or brush that is supposed to be there.... Lots to learn! Best part is being out there with the better half and enjoying the lake! you need to drive over the waypoint with down scan to confirm again what you've seen on side scan - mark it again so you have two waypoints to reference. Then drop the trolling motor and use the 2D (or DI) built in transducer in the trolling motor to "stay on top" of the structure (assuming you have a graph on the bow connected to ultrex). or you can chunk orange marker buoys over your shoulder when you go over with down scan and try to fish the marker buoy. Bow graph is a Helix 7 MSI but not the "N" model, so it isnt networked to anything. However, the marker buoy method you describe is how I have been doing it with DI, it just isnt ideal in water around 10ft or less which is part of the reason I am trying to learn the SI game. I have seen lots of videos where folks mark BPs with SI and then tell the networked TM to "go to spotlock > spotlock at curser" or just mark it as a waypoint and "go to waypoint". Im just trying to learn how to translate all of that successfully on the water myself. Im sure I'll get there eventually, just need more time on the water which is a good problem to have. Good feedback. The "N" model is only needed to share waypoints, you still should have the Helix 7 hooked up to the transducer on the trolling motor regardless. If you are fishing shallow, you can't buzz them with the big motor on down scan. once your trolling motor takes you to the waypoint you marked, then use the Jog feature on ultrex remote (5 feet) to bounce around until you see the structure show up on the Helix 7 2D or DI.

Can’t wait to see the new jighead still working on it, the issue right now is finding someone to make a proto type to be field tested . nobody will re tool thier machines unless I commit to and pay for 150.000 hooks upfront. not going to get 150.000 hooks made that I cannot be sure are to my specs. glad u like my Idea and it is still going to happen, just have to get the right company to make them. The covid situation is not helping either. the company I was interested in, has to fly Japanese engineers into china , to re configure the machines. an 8 hour process. I have some sample hooks from them with the vertical eye design and they are great, but I want a few thousand samples made of the horizontal eye version made. The marketing is that they are AMERICAN COMPANIES. but if u do some research, they arent making them here., they may get the steel from the US or elsewhere, one company uses German steel, the best in the world, but the steel goes to china to make hooks. Take a huge company like Eagle Claw, all made in china, but they have the resources to establish quailty control, they have people who can stay on top of the products, if the products dont meet thier standards, they can cancel millions of dollars in orders , then the products will be made correctly because an entire city of people in China may be making the product line for them and they will have no jobs. large companies have leverage to get things done. The problem with getting hooks made in china is quality control. you never know what will show up. hooks might have no barb, steel brittle, dull point, ect. they dont care. everything made in China has no consistency unless u hire a person to stand at the end of the production line and check the products, and its still hit and miss. heres an example if you use electric fillet knife blades, same thing, you may get a sharp blade, and think, wow this is a great fillet knife, or u may get a dull set, and think the fillet knife sucks, but its not the brand or electric unit, its the blades. The chinese couldnt care less if you are happy with your blades, they only care abt money. They will make things with as little quality as they can get by with., They know most americans dont care abt paying 20.00 for a new set of blades whenever need be. the way they know this, is because of all of the junk that gets sold right back to them, in scrap, that they will melt down, to make more junk to sell to us.. a brilliant idea can turn into a flop, because of a poorly made product.
