I broke off a good one tonight. I’m not so much upset that I didn’t land it as much as I hate to think that bad boy now has a dang hook and a Senko stuck in its head. It kind of feels like gut shooting a deer and watching it run off, never to be seen again. I sure hope that hook somehow comes loose.

Barbless hooks, maybe?

Look! Up in the sky. It's a bird. It's a plane. No, it's an EMP!

It will rust and fall out.

The first shark I ever caught from kayak had mine and four more hooks and leaders in its mouth. I'll never believe that hooks will quickly rust out... not even in salt water.

I had a wild sequence of events this year with a fish. It ate my frog and when I set the hook, my drag slipped and my line got tangled up. I grabbed the line with my hand and set the hook and it broke my frog off. That fish had a frog in its head.

Large. I have no idea how I broke the frog off. Maybe I was fired up and yanked it too hard.

Unless you had it hooked in the guts, it’ll be fine.

This Fall is a good time of year for a buzzbait. Early in morning and late in day best. Overcast days you can catch them all day! On Toledo and Rayburn, I can't remember how many good days I've had with a buzzbait. Lots of big bass are caught on them also.

Yanked the line or the frog too hard.
