The "pros" don't wear coveralls anymore, for sure.

Covid changed it a lot. Every Jack [censored] that ever fished in a pond is now running around in an $80k boat. Look at the shelves of Academy. There isn’t a DD22, FF Shad, chatterbait, etc.. these fish haven’t seen now so you have to get the more harder to find tackle

It’s all hard to find now. Fish are harder to catch too. I remember when the Jackhammer was a JDM bait and they wouldn’t sell them overseas because of the patent. Now they’re hard to get. With every body of water getting hit daily with chatterbaits, I’ve gone back to fishing spinnerbaits

When I stopped fishing, your choice of lines was basically either Stren or Trilene. I was a Stren guy.

When I got back into fishing, the choices were overwhelming.

Yes it is, never got the strike king deep diver love, I think it must be a KVD thing with marketing, give me the old Norman any day.

It's quite simple...I don't like most Strike King Products, but unless Norman is making them better than they did 15 years ago, the Strike King XD series is a superior product. Nothing worse than spending all day tuning a Norman crankbait.

Normans don’t like to be pulled real fast

I got all day I’m retired

No question fishing has changed a lot. Lots of things have made a huge change in how we fish. The new line possibilities.. flouro and braid. And as far as mono goes, I'm still a Stren guy. lo viz green is the deal for me for moving baits. My boat is a CC Flats/Bass boat and the biggest thing for me has been getting a Spot Lock TM.
I haven't focused on brand of cranks.. mostly colors but I have had issues with 6XD's running true. Usually by the time I get it running right, It gets hung up and I lose it. My experience is Rapala baits run the best.

!! perhaps i should have stated that i fished about a 100-120 days per year for bass and speckled trout( had a bass boat and a bay boat) up until 20 yrs ago. did really, really well on trophy trout, so i sold my bass boat and stuck strictly to saltwater fishing in 2001.... in march i sold one of my bay boats and bought a bass boat, so i do a little of each, again. the only 'game changer' for speckled trout fishing in the last 20 yrs has been the tower boat. well, there are 10x more trailers at the ramp everyday...but that is the same for bass lakes, too
