Not hard to fish.
-Straight down beside the boat.
- Position directly over the top of a 25 ft. Cedar tree.
- Get right in the middle of it.
- One pop once in awhile of the rattle shrink taped just above the hook.
- Double hook Minnow: first through the eye and then the tail.
- The feel of the bite is a learned process which is the most difficult part.

Wallace Gee, a welder and fisherman in 3 Rivers when Choke opened in the mid-80's showed me the welding rod rig in about 1986. Used them for catching big crappie out of oaks & mesquites in Choke Canyon. I was more interested in catching the big bass there on spinners, buzz baits & plastics. I don't know if this was Wallace Gee's "invention" or if he got it from someone else. We just used the welding rod or a metal coat hanger with a snap swivel & no other weight. Always with live minnows on a light wire #2 hook -- worked great!
