I agree, definitely one of worst fishing times of year. Probably a good thing with number of people that fish that tournament. If they can’t catch them, they can’t kill them.

Was this covid delayed? Why in the world would that have this event this time of year probably toughest time of the year at least for me even worse than mid summer and worst time for fishcare due to water temps after long hot summer. Sealy's Big Bass Splash on Lake Fork has been this same time in September since at least 2012 but I suspect it has been much longer than that. It was commonly referred to as "The Mcdonald's Tournament" back then, but it's been the same time frame for quite a while. No covid-delay.
"The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad."

Even back in the McDonalds days. I still call it that for some reason. lol.

In my metal boat I don't even have aerators. Just fill and run the oxygen tank all day. Fish come out looking better than when they went in. Cools the water off too You have a very interesting and impressive new twist here: Couple of simple easy question for you about your water chilling livewell rig: How do you cool summer livewell water without ice or D/C refrigeration and how much will your rig cool 93 F summer lake water? Everybody I know uses bagged ice to chill livewell water and they bring a lot of ice to last all day. That bagged ice is not cheap, it’s heavy and bulky in an ice chest on a bass boat. Most claim they chill their well water down 20 F. They say their fish are most comfortable when their well water temperature is in the high 60’s – low 70’s F all day. They also say that fish are like people when it comes creature comfort, cool temperatures in the summer beats the heat any day. Thanks for responding and sharing information how that works.

I’ve been fishing it for 10 years. It’s always been the third weekend of September since I started fishing it. This year, for my first time ever, I managed to get in the money, and I won two checks.

Money, money, money has always directly influenced friends, business associates and attractive women world-wide. Money is what tournament fishing is all about. The bigger the fish the more money moves which is the prime motivator for all fishing tournaments these days; i.e. bass tournament vs. international marlin tournaments … keep in mind that making money, lots of money is exactly what American Capitalism is all about, the goal of all successful business men.
I have met Bob and Ray, you can bet they are both very successful nusinessmen and both have a clear understanding of bass fishing tournaments and American Capitalism… making money, money, money.
