Sorry about your truck getting stolen. I hope you get it back in the same shape it was when they took it. Awesome catch as always. Love the two cats!

It was probably some people from way down south just passing through and got tired or walking. Glad you are getting your truck back.

It was probably some people from way down south just passing through and got tired or walking. Glad you are getting your truck back. Tom I think you are right. DPS officer who ran the plates remembered seeing only 1 occupant. After all we are only 38 miles as the crow flies from the border. Border patrol and DPS are doing a great job but there still is traffic coming thru. Glad you got it back. Did the culprits damage it? after having it home for a few days now I have looked it over real good and the only damage is the broken inside door handle but then again its plastic. According to the odometer they drove about 3k miles. I noticed oil smudges on the bed and door area so I popped the hood and noticed spilled oil on the valve cover "I never leave spilled oil on valve cover" and hand smudges in the oil so I checked the oil sure enough the oil was topped off. The thief actually took the time to check the oil and top it off. When i get to the impound in san Antonio to get my stolen truck I have to pay 238$ to get it out, so I go to pay the lady and she says you might want to go look at it first before paying me since it was stolen and usually they are trashed. When I see it the doors are locked and i open with my spare put the key in and it fires right up. I then drove it the 140 miles back to the ranch. Later I'm looking at the tow report and it has the address of where the truck was abandoned so I google the address and its a church parking lot in the medical center part of San Antonio. Only note on tow ticket says no keys. Im cleaning out the glove box and stashed way in The corner is a brand new hid-a-key box with my original key. The Lord sure does work in mysterious ways

I am glad you got it back is good condition! Late 80s my old faithful (1974 F100 with shell) was stolen from in front of navy housing in San DIego. I got it back after about 4 weeks from an impound lot. SD police found it beside a remote road and had it towed. They said they tried to call me one time but those days no voice mail or caller ID. I was out several hundred dollars for tow and impound fees and the sorry ******** broke the door lock and punched out the ignition to hot wire it. More money. And appears the ******** was using it to haul illegials around because the stench was awful inside. I loved the old truck so paid and fixed everything (stench was the hardest) and drove it several years. I brought it to Texas when I retired from the navy and used it for my work truck for one or two years but after driving it that way for one summer without ac I sold it and bought a little toyota little newer then yours for work and put 300000 miles on it.
SD police had no interest in arresting the thief, he left his bank book in the truck which I gave them. I called border patrol etc and that was the same. No interest. I considered making a trip to LA where he owned a mexican restaurant perhaps with one of my shotguns but knew that was not a good answer. Very personal when something is stolen from you, still makes me mad.
