So I have a question: I have a Lowrance HDS-12 gen2 touch that died. I ordered a

New unit

Lowrance HDS-12 Live Amer XD AI 3-in-1 gen3.

I want to know if I can just plug the new head unit in and use the same transducers as old unit.
Plug and play type thing?

What issues might I have and will it work that way?

I think the power cord, NMEA, sonar, and Ethernet cords will work. You will want to use the AI transducer though.

Yes you can but as said above why give up the improvements on the 3-1. You can run both on the Live put your current transducer on Channel 1 will need an adaptor 7 to 9 pin and your 3-1 will go on Channel 2 and you can run your skimmer or in hull transducer while running and your 3-1 when fishing so you have downscan and SI.
