Who said retirement was going to be easy. With all the rain we've been getting the farm has been taking up most of my time with shredding, equipment repair, etc. With that being said, my fishing buddy called last Tuesday and said he was off on Thursday so I parked the tractor and prepped the fishing boat. Fishing was great on Thursday unlike 2 weeks before where the bite was slow.
We hit the lake around 9am and went directly to our honey hole where the gills did not disappoint. Fished for an hour and then hit the second spot with same action; went back to first spot with no slow down in action.
Didn't keep count but I'm sure it was over a hundred. Most fish caught were in the 8" range with a few near 10". We used gulp alive minnows chartreuse, smelt and shad. We kept a few for eating and released the rest.

PS. I believe I figured out how to determine if a spot is connected to Vogey. When you land a fish and it just lays there while you take out the hook, you know it's been in that position many times before LOL. That means one of our spots has missed the Vogey hook.

Vogey, This may seem like a poor excuse but my phone was in the box, therefore no pictures were taken. My index finger and thumb were sore removing hooks by the time we called it quits. By the way, I've started researching go-pro cameras. Hopefully within short order I'll be able to share some pictures without breaking the action. I love the pictures you've been providing.
