Genesis 15:6 Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.
So which came first? Salvation by faith or the law? I only share this because God does not change.
I am not aware of anywhere in the Bible where salvation comes through the law. So the answer to your question is by faith. I agree whole heartedly.

I thought those who worked on the sabbath were to be put to death? Serious question. Jesus fulfilled the law. Jesus worked on a Sunday?

Yes He did, and was questioned and rebuked for it by the Jewish leaders. For instance, He healed people, and the law (or the way they understood it) claimed that was work.

My take is He said the Sabbath was created for man, not man for the Sabbath. I believe He meant that it was created for our benefit, not God's. Every day belongs to God. My $.02.

I worked in retail back in the seventies . I remember when the big stores ( Sears , Penney's , Wards ) went from all closed on Sundays to all open ( 12-5 ) . People had very different reactions at the stores . Some loved it , some hated it --- eventually all the little stores followed . Personally , every day is Gods day , Sunday is the day for family .

Thanks for the responses.
I was just wondering which side of the fence you sit, and which you actually did/do.
I "think" about "my day of rest on Sundays," but at times, I'd still do a workout, clip some hedges, pay an online bill, whatever, simple chores, and I feel/felt a bit guilty about it, but still go forward.
I thought I'd ask the forum!
...Have a great week, or at least "try." IN65

the real question should be why can't we buy beer before noon on Sunday? In a couple weeks you can start buying it at 10am on Sunday. Your prayers have been answered.
