From what I have seen, if you have had the chicken pox, you have a 1 in 3 chance of getting Shingles. If you can reduce your chances of getting it to 10 percent of that 1 in 3, that really helps to reduce your chances of getting it. Seems to be worth it to avoid the potential consequences.

I got sick from both shingles shots, Shingerx (sp) but I don’t want the actual disease. I had a friend who was in his 20’s put out of work for 3 weeks with it.

I would rate the side effects of the Shingles shots somewhere between a tinnitus shot and the covid 2nd shot.

True story.

I have already had both of my shingles shots. My dad had it on his side and back 35+ years ago, before they had the anti-viral treatment they have now. It looked like bad road-rash, bleeding and oozing and he said the worst pain in his life. That coming from a 75% disabled vet shot all to heck is saying something. Flash forward to 2 weeks ago, our 34 year old twin son(the youngest) has shingles on his head. The meds worked really fast to stop the spreading and itching. The biggest worry is their 3 month old son isn't old enough to get the Chicken Pox Vaccine and had to be quarantined away from his father for a few days. We got lucky and he didn't catch chicken pox from him.

I got my 1st one a couple months ago and the 2nd one a couple weeks ago.

Got sick after the 1st one and my arm was almost useless for 3 or 4 days afterward.

The 2nd one only made my arm useless for a couple says so not near as bad.

My wife got the Shingles a couple months ago, so that is why I got my shot, and she is still hurting around the breakout areas!
