Is there a big difference in the maps for these two? I have the Lowrance Elite FS which comes with CMAPs, was wondering if it is worth spending $150 to get the Navionics chip. For those who have both, which do you think is better?

I have an a CMap chip and Navionics chip...My CMap chip is about 3 year old and my Navionics is just about as old. To me the Navionics works better.

But I heard the CMap has an update that makes it close to Navionics. Not sure if this is true or not as I need to update it to find out.

I use both. I purchased the C-Map Reveal that only shows contours with pretty cool shading capabilities. It does not show marinas, road beds or boat ramps like the Navionics. The shading helps me with off shore fishing and finding spots quicker.

I keep forgetting I even have cmaps on my lowrance. I have a sub but it doesn't look as good as navionics but I haven't messed with the setting much

I think (from what Ive seen on Fork) with some of my spots I fish, Navionics is about as accurate as Ive seen. Way better than cmaps, and even better than Lakemaster in my opinion.

I have navionics, Garmin G3, and c maps.
