Every time I see painted brick, it makes me think they had severe foundation issues or something else that required a section of the wall to be re-bricked. The mortar never matches and they paint to cover it up.

I think it ruins a house most of the time. Paint doesn't last forever.

Paint once and you will painting forever. Just seems like asking for extra work and expense over the years.

Painted brick looks cheap, like old interior wood panel from the 70’s.

Had ours painted and are really happy with the outcome. It will have to be touched up and maintained but looks great IMO.

I feel like painting brick is a fad. Brick really should be timeless and classic, never goes out of style. I hate our brick, it's like a lighter almost pink color, but I still would never paint it.
Have you considered a lime wash or white wash?

I've painted a couple. First one in 1989, power wash, let dry for a few days then spray it. It can take a lot of paint to paint one. Son just had his painted a few weeks ago. Improved the looks of the hour tremendously ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/07/full-26342-104927-img_3340.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/07/full-26342-104928-img_3342.jpg)

The mortar never matches and they paint to cover it up. Very true and many in older house do it for that reason. I quality brickman can blend in mortar and make it look original

There is a brand new subdivision in Flower Mound that they are painting the brick on either all or nearly all the houses and they look very nice. Interesting how it started they bricked the first house and my wife commented they made an awful choice on the brick color. Fast forward a couple weeks and it was painted then they just went with it for other houses. These are not cheap homes by any means.
