Wish I had some great story, but either a tree or fish pulled one way while I pulled the opposite and it got ripped right out of my hand. The water was super clear so I could see it going down. Tried to treble hook it out but didn’t have any luck.

Water was pretty clear for my home lake that day....about 7-10 feet maybe more....which is pretty much crystal clear for my lake. Day was going well with the drone....then.....one prop didnt fire on liftoff, and that little [censored] dove into the damn water! went head deep after it....but i also saw it sink to the abyss. LOL I feel your pain of watching that money light on fire as it sinks to the bottom of the lake

Amazon has a "used-like new" one for $81 right now.. i actually thought about it but dont trust them to ship it right. bought a $199 lews reel for $147 there "new" yesterday via prime Prime has some deals if you check those other prices some times....in case you all didnt know or arent checking. and the "like new" stuff is basically brand new and the box is torn or something like that! you can find some killer deals on the "like new" stuff! got a ken onion sharpener and a millenium butt seat for super cheap like 40% percent off and it was just packaging issues

- Shimano SLX rod - showed up with a broken tip. Easy return, UPS picked it up from my porch
- Dobyns 702SF - showed up brand spankin new in the plastic and dobyns shipping tube
The downside is just a little time if it shows up broken, no $ issue. I get "used" stuff all of the time on amazon and it usually works out well.
