Going to put new 12” electronics on the console of my Majek Extreme bay boat. I want to add radar for places like when we are at Venice LA. What’s you thoughts on the best make and combo for this? Any detail on why would be appreciated.

Probably in the order of importance 1) Good Inshore mapping 2) Radar 3) imaging

Check out the the 3 models available from Lowrance Halo 20, 20+ and 24. The 20+ and 24 both have Velocity Track Doppler for Hazard ID and dual scale for setting detail far out and close in at the same time , Plug n play on a Lowrance HDS Live 12 or 16. Has CMap version 2 Contours Plus embedded in Unit with Depth Shading. Check it out on the Lowrance website and or any Dealers that Sell Lowrance. West Marine carries all of it.

Larry,
Do those radar antennas still need to be mounted above head level?
I don't have a T-top, so I've never felt that I've had a place to put one of those big domes.

They don't have to be they are safe but the range goes down dramatically with lower height.

Good for locating feeding birds and also look at waypoints to see if any boats may be sitting on a spot so you don't have to make a long run to find out
