I fly fished Nolte Lake this morning. The bite was slow but what it lacked in quantity it made up for in quality. All fish were caught with an olive J-Moe Briminator. I only caught one Rio but it was 11.13 inches / 1.07 lbs. I only caught one Red Ear but it was 10.25 inches / 0.74 lb. Other than that I caught about a dozen small to medium sized redbreast and bluegill; and a couple 14 inch bass. The Rio breaks the current Water Body Weight and C&R records held by a Mr. Chuck Dewey. That should keep him busy the rest of the summer while I sneak in and break his other 350 records The Red Ear was registered for a fly rod weight record only as it didn't break Mr. Dewey's overall weight or C&R record. It died so I couldn't register it for a C&R fly record.

WOW J-Moe, Chuck and I were just talking about you; wondering where you have been hiding. And Chuck was right about you being out there breaking records. Congratulations.

Awesome fish Jamie and "HUGE CONGRATULATIONS" on your record fish! Good job Sir! Side Note: I have already improved several of my records because of you and Rick aka The Catyakker!

Awesome post and awesome fish. Great job on the fly J-Moe. Congratulations on your records and nice fish. Side Note: How many records do you have? Also are they all fly-rod records?

Awesome post and awesome fish. Great job on the fly J-Moe. Congratulations on your records and nice fish. Side Note: How many records do you have? Also are they all fly-rod records? Thanks Laker. I have 171 records. All fish were caught with a fly rod and by the TPWD fly fishing record regulations. The majority of the fish were caught on either Briminator variants or a grey/white bead chain clouser I call the "Magical Clouser" because it catches fish like magic

That is a lot of records especially on a fly rod. You might just have the most fly rod records in the State. Side Note: I keep asking Chuck how many records he has and all I can get out of him is he lost count after 20!

"Side Note: I keep asking Chuck how many records he has and all I can get out of him is he lost count after 20!" I KNOW, I KNOW. A few years ago, TPW Outdoor Annual had an article in the back on Chuck fishing for records. At that time he had 285. I happen to know the exact number now, but you know, he's kind of shy about that; so let's just say it's between 400 and 600.

I guess I'll have to fish with both a fly rod and a second pole with a worm in order break that many records
