atlanta is becoming "chicago south"....if you are driving through atlanta it's risky to stop at any convenience store along the various interstates....regarding the common denominator remark above, the same denominator is ruining memphis,st louis, new york, baltimore, philadelphia, montgomery, jackson,ms. and almost every similarly populated city....
hopefully the media will acquire the guts to point out this cancer that will ruin this country if we allow it to continue....

Violent crime has been dropping for the last several decades until last year.
I thought Covid could be the culprit but its going up this year too.

The Drug dealers are establishing their territory. Also with a lot less of "Pro Active Policing", it's the perfect storm! eeks

If the growth of Mormon migrants in our state increased 16%, I am 100% sure the crime rate wouldn't.... unless we're reporting bicycle traffic issues.

Population increase does not have to mean there is a crime rate increase.

Dallas was getting pretty bad when I left 7 years ago. It really started the downhill slide when Katrina refugees didn't go back. They basically turned it into another New Orleans with the lawlessness.

Punishment should be 100X the crime, even on a 1st strike. Maybe that would make them stop & question if it's worth it.

Reality. What a concept!

There's an increase of violence everywhere, but it seems to be in cities that are hamstrung with politics that impede the ability for justice. The decrease in legislation around crime and those who commit the crimes, makes it easier for those who care less about the law and others. Until we wake up as a society and starting holding the criminals to a stricter form of law / consequences this will continue.

We also need to look into teaching respect, honor, and accountability, very early on in children's lives. My generation was taught young about drugs, crime, and how to be an upstanding citizen. Now days, this is gone and it seems the thug mentality wins.

I was shot in a road rage incident in 85. Got run off of the road and then shot by the A hole that did it. Violence has always been here.

Yessir-
What happened to me was in a small article is the newspaper, if it happened today because of social media and so many more ways to communicate, more would have been aware of it.

What has happed to you does not define who you are-

HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

my suggestion as to how to cure this problem would be strict,no exceptions enforced birth control to every woman who is on any sort of govt. assistance....we have got to stop kids being born into an environment where crime is accepted and they have little chance of ever being productive and happy citizens...
we have poured billions into totally sup[porting generations of welfare recipients trying to raise their standard of living and all we have created is generations of people with no work ethic,no morals and hatred/resentment of the working people who pay taxes to feed, cloth and house them...and it's going to bankrupt this country sooner or later....
