Californians?

Probably the ones Biden is letting in from the south!

Nope, the one's that throw "used" tolled paper in the trash can instead of flushing it.

I was there the other day. I left before 8pm and the gate was already locked but it had a sensor when I pulled up and let me out. Strange they said they don’t want people on the lake after dark which means in winter the park hours would have to be changed to 6-5. But on a side note the lake surface temp was 101 on most of the lake.

It looks like they want the lake to be like Gibbons Creek.

I have never heard them say they didn't want people on the water after dark. I think their 8 pm rule will be year round.

Fire laws prohibit locking people inside. A fire exit has to be present and marked. Not familiar with the location, but if they don't want their gate torn down, or a lawsuit they can not win, they will allow exit 24 hours

Tell that to Texas Parks and Wildlife. The gates are locked to keep people out. Those that have a reason to be on the inside have a way to open the gate.

If you want to fish until dark, you need to rent a camp site. Park Prairie is $18 per night. Per person day use is $5 each. My only question is does the $18 include the day use fee? If so, it will cost $8 extra for two to fish as late as you want. You can always decide not to stay the night.

I asked that question to two people working at Oak Thicket. Both of them said LCRA does not want any boats on the lake after dark, even if you are camping..

The lady that works the entrance in the mornings told me that if you are camping, you can fish or boat as late as you want.

That is what the lady at the gate told me also. They write on the hang tag, "out by 8pm" if you are not camping.
I have not tired the camping but they told me you can fish all night if you are camping, RV or cabin.

Just called Oak Thicket -"the park is open from 5:00Am-8:00 PM, we are not going to go out on the lake to pull you off". There is a sensor on the gate so you can always exit, they can't lock you in. They are trying to limit activity after dark/8:00 but there is no law or fine on this yet.
