I was wondering if there is a best time to buy a Dobyns rod? Do they have sales?

Any major holiday it seems. 20% off is the norm. Gary did a really big sale right after COVID hit to move inventory, but that was a really one off from what I've seen. American Legacy usually runs the best Holiday sales that I can recall on the norm.

I was wondering if there is a best time to buy a Dobyns rod? Do they have sales? Look at Classifieds here and BBC. Tons of them for sale.

I've purchased used too, and never had any issues.

This right here, I recently got a couple Champion XP rods from American Legacy Fishing, 20% off and free shipping, rods were drop shipped from Dobyns in Sulphur Springs to my house in Watauga, had them the next day. They are having a big Fathers Days sale currently, 25% NRX rods, Shimano SLX MGL combos on sale, and others, new deals everyday until the 20th, no Dobyns currently though. https://www.americanlegacyfishing.com/holiday-promotions/2021-fathers-day-sale.html

Sportsman Outfitters had a 20% sale going on but it may have ended by now.

Bought 2 Champion Extreme HP's last year when they had their 40% off sale. To me they compare to rods at the 40% off price. No way are they worth close to retail but they have a heck of a fanboy following on Facebook who think they stole em during the sale.

I like there fury line. I fished an Xstacy once. I really like it but did not think it was on par with NRX. Just my 2 cents. If the Xstacy was a 300 rod I would have loved. Im not in love at 550.

I bought two Sierras at 40% off. They are nice rods, but they aren't worth full price. I have cheaper rods that are lighter and more sensitive. There's no way I'd pay full price for another. Actually, I wouldn't buy another Dobyns.

I bought a couple more of the Fury Swimbait rods for like $65 when he did that sale last year, wish I had bought a couple more. I love them anyway at the full price point but that $65 price point was crazy.

Dobyns are none of the three but they do balance well which helps offset the weight.
