RIP Johnny Stevens. He and is fishing partner Leonard were the ones who taught me to fish probably 50 yrs ago.
I will miss them both but remember them always.

Heavy heart indeed. I got to fish EM with Johnny about 10 years ago before he started guiding. He gave me a batch of his Old Uglies, which I still have. RIP Johnny - you will be missed.

another tidbit many of you might like... is that back in the day Johnny was a pretty fair shortstop. good hands and strong arm.

Johnny hired me for a teaching trip about 20 years ago. End of the trip not sure who taught who. He became a great guide and had a passion for sand bass fishing. Enjoyed the many, many times visiting on the water. Prayers sent for family and friends. RIP Johnny! See ya soon

Went fishing with Johnny once a year for the last 10 years or so . Was one of his first clients when he went on his own . He will be missed ! God rest his soul !

I fished with him in May of 2019. He took my two grandboys and my daughter for a great trip! I couldn't have been more happy as a grandfather than watching my 8 and 11 yoa grandboys (at the time) haul in two at a time! That is one trip they will never forget. And neither will I. Again, thank you Johnny, for all you have done!
