Stopped into a restaurant for lunch today I frequently visit and the menu was on a plain paper instead of their regular menu. All of their prices have increased I would say around 20%, and their steaks were around a 40% increase. I read a line at the bottom with an asterisk to make it noticeable.
It read that they have increased their employees pay which has mandated they have to increase their menu prices. The the next line added that anything over $25 ordered they would automatically add a 35% tip fee.
I looked at the price of their hamburger steak plate which was $21.95, and a drink would be $4.99, add the local tax then added a 35% tip that would have added up to $40.01.
I laugh at the waitress who had served me plenty of times before and told her that I wasn’t about to pay that much for a lunch menu item that costed me less than $20 last week. I got up and left and wished her the best in the future.
This is what is happening to make sure those employees are being paid what the democrats thinks is fair and livable. The problem is people like me cannot afford to pay them that wage by eating there.

That will fine, then our company will raise it prices to make sure you cannot afford our product. And trust me you cannot do without gas and electric.

That. Would be the last time I frequented that place.

Here is the problem, it’s going to start happening everywhere. A Big Mac meal will soon be $15.

I'd have walked out, too...as I'm sure most have and will.

Today, I was at a restaurant I frequented 2 to 3 times a week before covid. Prices were the same, food was the same, only thing that changed was my favorite waitress was now at Texas Roadhouse about a mile up the road.

You’d pay 40$ for a hamburger steak?

I paid $15 bucks for a excellent burger, fries and tea today. No way I'm paying $40 for lunch though. I'll bring my own.

Went to Red Lobster for dinner last night, for the special occasions in life. Red Lobster is NOT the Red Lobster I remember. More like Red Dumpster as someone put it. $100 for 4 people and it was Meh at best. And lunch for me today was $12 for a salad and a tea. Really?!
