Not no, but hell no.. Probably not two or three people I would let use my boat. Those limited few are people that I have known for a while, or just good people that have as much time on the water as me, or more. Most boats have a few quirks, or a personality in different conditions. Didn't read the other responses, but i know for a fact that you will not treat a vehicle/boat the same when it's (owned vs rented) There is an old saying "Don't be gentle it's a rental!". I'm guilty as well, i drive rental cars like they were stolen sometimes. Don't do it.. just my .02$

Only way i would do it, buy an aluminum beater with a decent motor. Aluminum prop only.. Aluminum boats are amazingly durable. "You break it you buy it contract"...

“I’m at the ramp and it won’t start!” “I took out the DRAIN plug and it’s STILL filling with water!” “I forgot my minnows in the “live bait tanks”. “Can I pull more than one skier or tube?” “That “thing”’broke!”

The amount saying no will leave you with little competition. When I traveled more would have loved to have access to a boat on various lakes around the US and with a place to stay. Also I have rented center consoles and gone offshore out of Destin on my own in the past. Do your home work, get insurance, and go for it. Love the combo Airbnb idea. However I would keep HP low (200 is too much for novice boaters) and/or go the pontoon route. Also wouldn’t rent out “my” personal boat.

One of the worst ideas I have ever heard. Cue the "jump to conclusions mat" from office space...lol

Dad always told me never loan out your boats or guns i still follow that advice . your dad should have added tools to that list. I’ve got a neighbor that’s a habitual tool borrower. It’s all good except I usually have to go get said tool from him when I need it again.

Do NOT do it! I've got quite a bit of equipment that I use in my business. On occasion I'll loan something to a friend to use. I cannot tell you how many times they've damaged something.....and they're trying not to damage anything. I can only imagine what would happen to a boat, rented to a stranger, who might well be inexperienced.....

Barrett There was a booth set up at the classic called “boat hop “it’s going to bo like a Uber. You get paid to take people out on your boat. The lady said this new concept is about two Weeks old. I think they have that now, it's called a guide......

I would not do it, think about how most people use rental cars....most people treat their own auto pretty good but get into a rental car and you become a racecar driver!!!!

I think in all my years Ive only let 2 people use my boat. Zach Hughes and Billy Dyson. Ive got to damn near really trust someone to throw them the keys. I would NEVER rent my boat out!
