Not wearing anything else if I can help it. I put one on when launching the boat and don't take it off until the boat is back on the trailer.

They are great, use it all the time like these other guys here. But here's the catch.... This is what the Game Wardens told me last weekend when I was stopped: It is required to be worn at all times to be considered a regulation PFD. If you take it off at any time, you must have another regulation PFD on the boat. So if you buy one, make sure you either wear it at all times, or carry a spare life jacket. https://tpwd.texas.gov/regulations/...quipment/personal-flotation-devices-pfdsI keep at least 2 of the cheaper orange life vest in the boat at all times. This way, if someone falls out of the boat I have a back up vest to put on. I've had to use my extra vests one time to strap on two guys who I pulled out of lake Lewisville who were stranded in the water with a overturned boat. So never a bad idea to have some extra vests in the boat. Like carrying a tow strap. Someday you might need to use it for you. Someday, you might need it to help someone else.

Three things that should ALWAYS be kept in a boat: Spare rope, spare life vests, and a paddle/oar.
