And who cares what the other anglers think, he’s doing what he thinks is best for him to make a living. Is he the only one allowed to fish whatever trail he wants or are the rest of those guy’s just slackers and need the time off to make YouTube videos or post stuff on Twatter?

Like Beartrap stated, I bet Cox has spent quite a bit of time on Roberts, I think he is a shallow water guy so this rain probably not going to hurt him, he probably wasted no time practicing out here deep on offshore stuff.

Random observations.

  • Not sure Cox blew off the Classic. They changed the schedule.
  • He's earned the right to fish multiple trails.
  • Do we know how much he practices? He seems to fish the conditions (almost always shallow)
  • He can check out a lot of shallow cover on Roberts in one day. It's not that big of a lake.
  • The conditions this year are setting up better for him than it would typically this time of year.
  • He traditionally does well on Chick. Most all the shallow water guys struggled this week.
  • Cox is better than most on Elites, not to mention 110% effort from the ones that just missed the Classic.
  • I enjoy watching him which ever trail.
  • He seems like a good dude.

Between him & Keith Carson, they’ll practice hard the 1 day they have left, share what each other found & I wouldn’t bet on him working the show on Sunday.

Now what I am wondering is, and excuse me for my ignorance: How are they going to transport their live fish to Fort Worth (an hour's drive at BEST), in their live wells, full of zebra mussel infested water from Lake Ray Roberts ... for the hoorah trophy shots at weigh in? Isn't there something called, "Clean, Drain, Dry Your Boat?" https://tpwd.texas.gov/regulations/outdoor-annual/boating/clean-drain-dry-your-boat

Quote
Persons participating in a fishing tournament confined to one water body are allowed to transport live fish in water from that single water body to an identified off-site weigh-in location, provided all water is drained and properly disposed of before leaving that location. Participants must possess documentation provided by tournament organizers that identify them as participants in a tournament.

They got it covered, this is not their first tournament with an extended drive from lake to weigh in.

Why do you think bass cares about a Texas resource?

It's obvious that I am picking Pipkens, he idolizes me and put my name on the side of his boat and truck.

Judging by how serious some people take clean drain and dry on these forums....at least on certain threads....BASS just lost a few fans roflmao

all joking aside....im sure theres stipulations in place...may violate the spirit/purpose for the rule, but im sure they arent breaking any laws during the super bowl of Bassin 🤷‍♂️
