A five spot for a shot and a beer? And you wonder how we wound up here.

I use blue fleck or june bug in low light conditions. In clear lakes I use watermelon (red or seed), all others its a green pumpkin (blue or magic or plain).
I have not been on a body of water where blue fleck has not caught some fish and sometimes I will throw it all day.

Looks like one thing we found out - if the lake is heavily pressured, pick anything but green.

Depends on the lake you are fishing. I fish one lake in particular that if you stick with watermelon red, you will have a slow day out there. Several other colors work way better there. I don't try to force feed the fish a certain color that I think might work. I let the fish tell me which they like best that day by experimenting with several colors.. I never just get locked in on one color. Whatever I get the most bites on , that is what I go with that day.
