I have noticed most Branch Managers at BOA are either female or a male minority That seems to be common at all the banks I use. The branch manage is basically the head teller now. The loan officers, the mortgage guy and the investment/private wealth banker are the ones making all the money.

Since they only have two tellers in all their branches now(if that many) it wonโt make much difference to their payroll. That seems to be the trend at every bank around here.

There will be one teller in the branch and you will be battling in line at the atm. They will have virtual tellers now

BOA has pushed everything to machines. Even check deposits are done at an ATM, or can be done with the phone app. I can't remember the last time I saw more than 1 or 2 tellers working the counter.
As a customer, announcements like this makes me cringe. Ultimately, customers are paying those salaries. So my thinking is that I am paying a person $25/hour to drop a stack of bills in the money counter, and to hand me a deposit slip. They won't even sort out change for deposit anymore. If you want to deposit coins, you have to sort them out and roll them yourself.
I also realize, like Dan said above, the actual impact of this is minimal. So that tells me BOA is just making a political statement. That also makes me cringe. Getting used to it from them though. If it wasn't such a PITA to change banks I'd have moved my money a long time ago.

I would have assumed they were already paying more than that. Doesn't seem that high for one of the biggest banks in the country. You don't get to be one of the biggest banks in the country by overpaying your employees to perform menial tasks.

Correct. They will position their staffing so that they actually save a ton by offshoring and automating, while they engage in self righteous virtue signaling. But thats the thing to do these days...

Lady across the street is a BofA branch manager. She's been working from home (branch closed) since the beginning of Covid. Pushed her to estate planning until they decide to open the branch back up, which I doubt will happen.

They closed our drive thru and walk in Bank and went to straight machines only.

Good for them, but Iโll keep using my local credit union and getting 2+% on the first 15K in my checking account.

The only entities around that keep excess employees around is government at any level. I cannot imagine why anyone would need to go into a bank anymore it is not 1990 where ATMs were just starting and the Internet hadnโt been invented by algore.
