Thank you all for the feedback. Looks like spot lock should come first and that makes sense. I am tired of fighting the trolling motor on windy days.

Tight lines and God bless.

I don't own either but sure would be nice to be able to look under a dock or at a brushpile and see if there is a fish there instead of just blind casting....

It's also nice to be able to catch a fish along a rocky bank in the wind and just press a button a go about your business and not worry. You hit spot lock, then you can go to the back of the boat. Land the fish. Weigh the fish. Take pictures. Sort the live well. Grab yourself a soda pop. Never having moved an inch. Or you can take kids fishing and when they each get tangled up at the same time, you hit the spot lock, then 10 minutes later when you actually get back to fishing, there you are, some spot where you left off. Agree with others it massively reduces stress while fishing. It also opens up the world off offshore "spot" fishing.

Another feature... you can program these newer trolling motors to "learn" certain routes. Up north I've got a sunken island I musky fish that is 1 mile all the way around with lots of undulations. I press a button and can fish from the back of the boat while the trolling motor traces the exact outline of that island regardless of what the wind is doing. You can fish for an hour like you've got your own personal chauffeur. Powerful stuff.

Spot lock now and wait for FF to advance and become more user friendly.

Ive used my TM while launching too. Im solo usually. Launch, drop TM, get me to the dock....then put the boat off to the side via TM and spot lock it. Go get the truck, park and bring the boat back to the dock when you get back. Its bailed me out a few times

Exactly what I’d do.

Spot Lock....greatest thing since electric troll motors were invented.

spot lock , however I do not have live scope, 360, or live target and have never fished with anyone that does.

I have a Gen3 HumBird Helix 12 and am considering adding 360. I would love to get out with someone who has it and see it in action.

360 is a $1500 add on , I'm skeered of buyer's remorse.

Spot lock is the best invention of all time. It's greater than the smallpox vaccine.

I don’t have spot lock but I do have Livescope, wasted my money on that .... Get the spot lock and don’t worry about FF Sonar for about another ten years, maybe it’ll be easier to use by then.
