I completely agree I didn’t say anything to the guy I was just thinking Man that was rude the most annoying part though was it was prime time fishing and there was a big tree that he was trying to hit and that’s where he jumped immediately

honestly the place to deal with it is right there in real time in person

I fish Fork all the time and its unreal how dam rude people are to others down there. Letem see you catch a couple and see how fast they come too you. Better yet go out bout 35 ft and start fishing and see how long it takes for one to show up and start circiling you with side imaging too see what you are fishing. Just shake my head and say what the hell.

Money has zero bearing on it. Right is right regardless

I was on Fork earlier this year. I was fishing the pond damn across from LFM. There was absolutely no one in sight on a late Sunday evening sunset. Then here comes some jack wad with his wive in tow. He literally pulls within 30 yards of me and he drops the trolling motor and starts casting right in front / across the damn. I’m like you got to be kidding me. There’s me and this guy and he can’t find any other place on the lake but to pull right in front of me.
SMDH.

I think the code is dead. It certainly is gone on Lewisville. Tournament a couple of weeks back and the winners came in and cut us off. We were fightin a hard wind. I had boat facing into the wind and was drifting backwards. When the 2 kids came in they went about 100 yards down. I turned my boat towards them and went 50 yards towards them. They stayed there and caught a giant in front of us. It was big bass and carried the win for them. I was mad for a couple of days. I finally got over it, but I don't think giving people space to fish is the future of our crowded lakes.. I am going to have to start accepting many of the habits of high school fishing. I guess their tournaments are too big. I wouldn't mind the high school kids not fish our tournaments anymore.

I’m reading this and I’m glad I’m not the only one who see's this change. I hate it! I was taught respect for your fellow fisherman when I was young. That’s gone out the window! The part that really scares me is the high speed boats blowing by you 50’ away doing 60+. Why?? I really think no one cares about their fellow man anymore. I’ve been fishing the back if coves on Rayburn, a big bass boat blows in around you, side scans the area your heading into and then blows out. What happened to seeing someone beat you there and you don’t go in? Oh well.

This kind of thing happens ALL the time. Makes me not enjoy fishing as much anymore.

I'm not sweating 100 yards, I've had guys do much worse.

And you better start getting used to the HS kids beating you. There are a lot of them out there that are "just fishing" like most on this site but there are also a growing number of youngsters that can and will beat you. They are that good.
Just because you watched someone catch a big fish in front of you doesn't mean that you would have caught that fish.

It's almost creepy how much you talk about high school kids

Get close, trim up your engine and give him a bath. Nothing like lake water to wash away their sins.

Athens is small and crowded. It is not cool to get too close and irritating when someone does it, but I just accept that it is going to happen at places like Athens, Fork, or Squaw. Athens was not crowded at all yesterday but it happened to us, the guys were in a fancy wrapped boat so you know they know better. We were fun fishing, and I just struck up a friendly conversation with the guys. No big deal and he ended up pulling off the spot and leaving it to us.

See you on the lake and have a great day!
