If you could only have one fishing rod and reel what would it be? Also what’s your favorite Combo? Brand ,model, action?
If I could only have 1 it would be a Shimano Poison Rod 7ft 2 HMF paired with a shimano bantam.
Favorite combo I have is a G loomis 852s paired with a Shimano Vanford.

I haven’t used a whole bunch of different brands, but I have a MB Levante in Perfect Pitch with a Shimano D7 and that’s about the first one I’ll always grab. Strong backbone with a nice tip that works frogs nicely.

If I could only have 1 it would be a Shimano Poison Rod 7ft 2 HMF paired with a shimano bantam.
Favorite combo I have is a G loomis 852s paired with a Shimano Vanford. Made that decision over 40 years ago and stuck with it: No regrets.

My 6’10” medium Falcon Shaky Head rod, with the Shimano Stradic Ci4 reel. I use it for wacky rigged senkos. That setup, or ones similar, have paid for two boats. I use it every time I fish.

Casting: shimano nrx 853c and shimano metanium 150b xg with 12lb sunline
Spinning: shimano nrx 872s and daiwa exist 3000cxh with 8lb sunline flouro (yes it holds a whole spool of line)
