Quite the contrary. I wish police made MORE $$ for the job they do. In fact, I believe that there should be MORE cops out there. It's the the dirty cops I worry about. The 1% that lack the training or mentality to wear a badge that make the other 99% look bad.

Yup, mine will stay renewed so that I can carry in other states I’m allowed to that aren’t constitutional carry yet, and so i don’t have to wait on a background check when purchasing a gun

Fair enough. I was mistaken by your comments concerning the Police to stop you and search for a gun if you have a LTC.

I didn't renew my CHL probably 7 years ago and haven't looked back. Been pulled over many times, only once did the office ask if I had a weapon in the car. Answered his questions and he let me go with a warning.

As for quickness in buying a new pistol, the last 2 I've bought, at different places took maybe 10 min from the time I walked in the door to walking out with a new gun.

Obviously you never know when you'll need it, but you can avoid situations/places where it greatly increases. Home, work and vehicle are where I spend a big majority of my time, most other places I'm at you're not legally allowed to carry so it wouldn't matter. My 2cents

I couple of things have jumped out at me reading through these responses. Some of you lawyer types please correct me if I am wrong, but here is what I believe to be true.

1. Probable cause to stop for a traffic violation is NOT the same as probable cause to search a vehicle. Just because you were speeding, the cop is not automatically allowed to search your vehicle or your person.

2. This thread is the only time I've heard of a cop asking a driver to give them their pistol. I don't think they can legally require you to do that unless they have cause to detain you (again, a traffic violation is does not provide that cause). Not sure exactly what I would do in that situation, but I am pretty sure I will NOT grab my gun, clear it, and hand it to a cop.

I've been pulled over multiple times with CHL/LTC. The closest a cop ever got to seeing my gun was asking where I kept it. I told him small of my back, and he replied "Okay, just don't reach your hands behind you."

So if it is truly "constitutional carry" everyone has a right to carry?

Or is it going to be "statutory carry" where there are limitations placed on a person's right to constitutionally carry? And it is up to the legislature to decide on what limitations are acceptable and what limitations are not?

this, already have it so why not renew it?
makes buying new guns a lot easier, makes it legal to carry in arkansas and new mexico if you go there, Okieland you are covered since it will prove you are legal to carry a gun.

when they pass this they also need to include a 2nd amendment sanctuary state declaration with it, then we are fully covered.

cheers

I for one would like to talk more about the olds dying.

Once they are gone, will that stupid law about not being allowed to buy beer before noon on Sunday go away? If so, I’m all for the olds dying. Sorry, both Bobs.
