Fished today, wasn't planning to get out but the rains fizzled out mid morning. Was calm, and real nice weather. Fished for bass most of the day, actually i did allot of practicing my casting. Rising water has the bass bite shut down. On a good note, the sand bass are active and out working overtime. Same as yesterday, find birds and you will find fish. If you can try to get down below the birds you might pick up some better fish. I worked a hump at sundown and picked up an easy limit of good fish. The hump tops out at 15 ft, and they were crushing a crankbait.

Wow, those are nice.. I caught a @ 9 inch crappie on the point coming out of scotts landing (east side). Caught it on a 3/4 oz magnum willow blade spinnerbait. Might try looking around this area. I know there are some fish on the submerged tires farther in towards the marina. I need to slow down, and try to pick up some of them. I'm here to tell you, crappie fishing is an art. When you master this you, can catch anything.. Thanks for sharing.. I caught the crappie around the boulders .

The way the water is coming into the lake the ramps could close in 3 days. Only letting out 16cfs. Looks a lot like 2015, hope not but Grapevine is the last to let the water out.. Lake was closed until September that year.

Not to come off any wrong way but I hope the lake does flood. Fishing gets really good and the ramps close and there aren't many boat out there. I can drop my yak in anywhere and fish and have the lake basically to myself.

He ain't lying, it gets real good when the lake gets over-full.. I was catching them like crazy on the upper end when it was high..

Had to take advantage of the afternoon. Had consultation with my doctor today, and I have two weeks until rotator cuff surgery. Had the right done about 8 years ago, now the other is torn. Took the canoe out from Meadomere and at 3pm the wind kicked up. I tucked behind the main point and slow rolled a spinnerbait off the bottom. Caught a nice spot, a mega goo, and a 15 pounder. wind died and it was a really nice afternoon.

Caught many sandbass on the spinnerbait, did not fish for sandies but i caught them with the largest spinnerbait you can buy..

That 15 lber is one heck of a catch. That is impressive...catching 5 sandies at a time. Hope your surgery goes well.

I will be out of pocket for a bit as of june 2, but once I can get around my wife or Son will be helping me get out. As long as I have a good arm, and I am not going to get into trouble I will be out fishing. The time off the water will allow me to get caught up on some things I want to get done. Thx for the responses, and I would greatly appreciate you guys sharing the info as you feel comfortable. My main goal is to get people out with their kids, and on fish. With schools finishing up, there will be more kids out on the water.. Been thru this on the other shoulder, and it's a PITA. Wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.. At least this time I have my good arm..

Good luck with the surgery. Will miss your reports. Yesterday got into a large school with the "redneck" thumper and caught doubles one after another. Fun day for sure.

You're killing me. My truck is in the shop for hail repairs and the poor boat is stuck at home with me.

Lots of birds yesterday evening off Murrell, not much surfacing but they were biting pretty good. Caught enough for a good fry plus another cat for the pond....

Those are some good fish.. Good info, I will be hitting it hard on my days off getting as much time on the water. Great job, and I am also struggling seeing these reports. Bass fishing is real good as well, but I need to knock out some time at the salt mine. Keep the great pix and reports coming.
