I got checked by a Possum Cop on Fayetteville one day and during the course of the interrogation I mentioned that I had seen some of the alleged Cast Netters keeping bass and I was assured that they are not keeping bass, only tilapia. I pointed out the boat that was allegedly keeping the bass and the Possum Cop left me, went straight to another bass boat, finished up with them and rode off into the sunset, never checking the suspect boat. I don’t think I’ll waste time trying to shoot video but thanks for the tip. Maybe I’ll see this Mulligan guy and turn him in. I’ve had two similar experiences with Tx game wardens. They simply don’t want to hassle with it. They would rather keep the honest folks honest, vs deal with the headache of writing a citation to a possible suspect that likely wouldn’t have any ID, much less a license. The warden probably doesn’t speak Spanish and doesn’t want that hassle either. Then there is the likely chance that the wardens citation, if they did bother to check and write one, would never be followed up on with the cast netter. Yep. Most wardens are pretty much only centered around checking locals for their life jackets and fire extinguisher....oh and sometimes they ask for a license. So you are saying that most of the poachers are Spanish speakers with no valid ID? Are they from Spain? No Doug, as we have discussed, Biden has an open border now and we are being invaded......that has to be the final straw........they are killing our bass... Back to Mulligan fishing, did he get a Game Warden visit yet?.... So is Biden passing out cast nets?

Just another example of an idiot posting a YouTube video of himself breaking the law. He is not breaking the law if the fish are of legal size. From TPWD site: Can I catch fish in public water and take them home to stock my pond? Fish that are legally harvested from public water may be stocked in a private pond. “Legally harvested” fish are caught by someone who holds the required fishing license, observing all applicable length limits, daily bag limits, and gear restrictions. For more information on licenses and regulations, see the Texas Outdoor Annual.

I'm trying to picture how this would go before the judge or in court.
Judge: "What is the length restriction on the lake for which you are charging Mr. Mulligan (I like the new name)?"
Officer: "There is a 14-24 inch slot, Your Honor. "
Judge: "And how long were Mr. Mulligan's fish when you measured them?"
Officer: "Well, I didn't actually measure them. I didn't actually see them in person. But eyeballing them in the video I would say they were about 19-23 inches long."
Judge: "You are 'eyeballing' and 'estimating' the length of fish from a video? Is that all the evidence you have for making this charge?"
Officer: "Oh, no sir. Not by a long shot. The guys on the Texas Fishing Forum eyeballed and estimated they were short, too."
I suggest we go ahead and get a rope.
