I am curious about Braunig and Calaveras lakes. I hear good things about fishing them, and have seen some videos about it, but I never see any reports about them on this site? Are people passing them over for other lakes, or keeping them a secret for some reason?

You can see more info on the Facebook page 210 Fishing.
Not much reporting on hill country fishing on this site.

A ton of info on FB, unfortunately it appears to be all redfish now a days. If there’s bass in Calaveras, you sure don’t hear anything about it. Braunig has some big bass, but it sounds like you’ll only catch 1-2 fish a day.

I hear you can catch reds on spoons. In my little kayak that would be interesting.

Check out " HooKed RR" on You tube. Robert is local to San Antonio and does a lot of Fishing for Reds at Calaveras. Really good guy as well.

If you go, make sure you take everything out of your truck and make sure you are gone before dark. Some of San Antonio's sorriest excuse for people hang out around those 2 lakes.

+1 I wont put my kayak in there again! Too many uneducated boaters out there. We had a ski boat pass 30 ft from the wife and I in our tandem kayak. It's lime green and they waved as they flew by throwing their wake. So it's not like they didn't see us. Idiots mad
