So I headed out to one of my favorite fishing lakes yesterday hoping it would be an epic trip, but it was actually disappointing most of the day. I would see fish rising periodically throughout the morning, but only caught 4 and lost a couple. Last month on this lake I hooked 13 bass, so either they've been caught or just aren't feeding now. I saw a bunch of what looked like spawning beds, but didn't see any fish in them. I did catch my PB bluegill, about and inch longer than the one I caught back in January, and then my PB crappie! I was trolling a big spoon around the "deep" part of the pond and then did some deep, slow retrieves to see if the bass were down there and hooked this monster crappie. Well it's a monster for me, way bigger than any I've ever caught before.
