OK... just saw where they are only in Texas... So I've never set foot in a real HEB... but I think there's a knock off HEB in NY... or maybe it said for HEEB's only! I was on a fishing trip so wasn't really paying that close attention. roflmao

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

I saw the same newscast. LMAO. They'd have more stolen groceries going out the door than paid for, not to mention the safety of the employees.
Folks here in Irving on "Nextdoor" keep saying they want a HEB here. Same story. What they / we will get is more check cashing, auto title loan, and latino stores. South Irving can't even keep a Fiesta open.

I have heard this too. But it was United ,IDK now we have both here.

I ran a meat market for Brookshires and that was what we were told as well. I know that Brookshire`s would never go to San Antonio because they would lose their A$$, but HEB is not afraid of anyone. They could probably go to Tyler, Texas and have 60% of the market share in just a few years. All of those loyal Brookshire`s customer would jump ship like a bunch of rats on a sinking ship. I have seen it happen.

I went to the Hudson Oaks HEB store yesterday. I thought it was pretty clean. Well stocked, super nice employees and the eye candy was pretty solid too. My only complaint is its a pain to get to from my house or we would shop there more often.

The grocery area in walmart is a ghost town since we got HEB. Its night and day better than just about every other grocery store.

We went to Hudson Oaks the day it open and it was bat $hi+ crazy and never went back. We actually go the Granbury HEB 75% of the time instead of the one where we live (Stephenville).

They are building a new Brookshires just east of me. My daughter told me it is going to be one their top of the line stores. I am curious to see if it is any good.
I shop primarily at HEB in Waxahachie. It is an older but remodeled store. The pricing is better than both area WM's. Brookshires in Midlothian is an outstanding very clean store with THE best produce in the area. It is a little pricey but the quality is there.

I've got a ultra nice one about 1/4 of a mile from my house. We can walk there through the back of the neighborhood. Super convenient and it's a great store. As someone else mentioned if you were a single dude the pickings would be ripe in there (and I'm not talking fruit).

Avoid the chips and cereal section, stay around wine and produce area. That's the sweet spot
