They stole 6th sense baits molds. Their plastics are junk.

But they know how to market and have the youtube crowd in their back pocket. And they are paying Academy a ton to be on the end caps.

To each their own.

Never really used their stuff. Even though I am of the younger generations of anglers, I don't really get into the youtube show boating stuff. However, props to the guys who have found a niche and are exposing a certain part of the market others have not.

Some people are just going to hate because they are part of the Youtube crowd. I'm 50+ and I've tried some of their soft baits and they seems to be fine...especially the crack n craw. I do really like their square bill Banger too. Colors are really good and it catches fish which is what I really care about.

They have sold Googan. Not sure how much of it or what the firms name is. Luke Dunkin and Dave Mercer had Rob on their podcast and that is what he told them. They are still a part of Googan but not sure to how much extent. Before long I think 3 or 4 entities will own the whole fishing industry.

I really like the Trench Hawg and their Gridiron jigs. Their jerks are good too. Have had the bandito bug on a lot but just don't see to get bit.

I make alot of my own soft plastics and generally softer means more action. There are times it will absolutely get you more bites. No doubt about it. There are also times it will get you hung up more and make you use more baits. It's a give and take. As long as something is catching fish I don't mind how long it lasts necessarily.

So, are you telling me they aren't made by Southern Plastics, manufactures tures 70+% of the plastics on the market? I strongly remember that when they started, they had a big roll out at Fun-N-Sun's tackle show a couple of years ago. I also remember that they coordinated with Steve O. and licensed his designs for Strike King (Rage Brands).

I heard something about the buy-out also... anyone can sell a banjo minnow on a million dollar marketing budget
