They can either buy a truck so they can haul what they want when they want, OR they can rent one whenever they need to haul something.

My truck is my truck.

Loaned my truck to a friend one day and had to bail him out that night for DUI. Tempted to leave him in there. Last time I loaned out my truck.

I've got friends that I've let borrow my truck if their was down and I've had to borrow a truck before. It's just a truck.
My boat(s) are an entirely different story.

I have never been asked. I really can’t think of anyone I know that doesn’t have one. But if I were asked, the answer would be no.

I wouldn't hesitate to let you and PeaceSignDan borrow it. I'm not sure either of you can handle it though.

Thank you sir. I'm not sure how I feel about snappy trucks though. I like my truck in eco mode vs. sport.

Neighbor: Can I borrow your truck tomorrow evening?
Me: Sure, just leave your wife here as a deposit.

I had a truck for YEARS! I do not today. There are those rare times when I cannot get around needing a truck. I needed some rebar. They come in 10' lengths. They are dirty. I thought well, I'll just take my electric band saw and cut the rebar to the lengths I need. Wrong. Home Depot wouldn't let me plug into their power source outside. So, I called my neighbor and he let me use his deceased FIL's, unregistered (surprise!) truck to the Home Depot that it is 3 miles away. It took me about 30 minutes total. I guess you could say I got paid back for the water leaks I fixed for him during the thaw and the pipe insulation he needed. Neighbors do things for each other. Even borrow trucks.

Be safe,
Rayzor

Ya know. Trucks are nice enough to drive as daily drivers. They get “decent” fuel mileage. They can be as loaded as most luxury cars. I just don’t understand why a household wouldn’t have at least one truck. Ever.

Tell em it is not a "hauling truck".

So with one of those covers can you park in front of a house in Frisco without the HOAs getting on your case? I like the color matched door and tailgate handles. At least they are not chrome. Gas cap cover too.

Not completely sure I get it when I see folks comment that they'd not even allow their wife to drive their truck? It's a thing folks! I've driven heavily optioned 4 wheel drive GMC Denali pick ups and Ford Lariats and have never hesitated when (close) friends and family needed to borrow them. Same with my BassCat. Probably the only thing I'm hesitant to loan to anyone but immediate family is my wife's Mercedes. That being said, We loaned our Yukon XL to my wife's brother and he managed to total it and the bastage was too sorry to even pay the insurance deductible.

my answer is the same for trucks as it was for boats....if you are type person who would fix whatever they broke,I'd loan my truck to them....I value my friends a lot more than i do a truck or boat...

Everyone needs to use a truck from time to time for hauling furniture, fire wood, lawnmowers or whatever, but I've known a lot of people who refuse to ever own one. Too big to park, bad gas mileage, not as nice, not comfortable, and rides rough are usually the reasons. Trucks still take up more parking space than cars, but the other complaints haven't been valid in 30 years. Modern trucks are like luxury cars with a huge trunk.
