Ultrex added about 15 mph to my level of wind not to exceed.

[i]‘Every spring I consider going back to a center console because of the wind. 20+ wasn't even a second thought when I had a good v hull center console. In my bass boat anything over 15 is out if I'm fun fishing. The bass boat won't sink but it sure beats the hell out of you in anything 15-20mph. If I'm getting ready for a tournament I just go and figure it out pretty much regardless of the wind. It's still mind blowing to me that really nobody makes a hybrid type boat with a true v hull and a bass boat style deck layout. Still seems to me that would be the perfect boat for these big Texas lakes’
Check out the Crestliner Basshawk. A true v~hull with a bass boat platform.

With my 14’ Jon boat, I don’t go unless it is less than 12 mph. So I haven’t been using my boat much lately. roflmao

It'll be windy until mid June.
Then just hot and no breeze until mid September.

It’s real simple. If it’s windy don’t drive across the roughest part of the lake.

If I'm fishing a tournament I go, period. If I'm not fishing a tournament I don't go if I think it's going to be a beating instead of fun. Fishing is supposed to be enjoyable for me. It's not my job.

I would rather fish in rain, sleet, or snow than wind. I hate wind. It makes me miserable, especially since I fish techniques that require feel so much of the time. My Ultrex helps. Standing on a trolling motor all day, casting over my shoulder, used to wear me out and make my legs cramp at night. I reached a point where it was no longer worth it to me.

We had a great day last Thursday and the wind blew 20, gusting to 33 all day. But we were on a private lake and didn't have to cross any big water. Fished a couple tournies on Fork during a hurricane when the wind blew 30-40 gusting to over 50. You just launch in the creek you are fishin and stay in it. It's not that big a deal if you are smart.

If I were retired and could choose the days I go, I would not Choose to go on a day when the wind is over 20 but I don't have that luxury YET!!

I always hated the fact that fishing in the tournaments I fished, in some cases, resulted in me fishing when the conditions were not that favorable..... some were even down right dangerous. Gave up tournaments a few years ago and now we have a place on Toledo bend (water front). I work from home mostly so I get up, make coffee and go on back porch. If it seems like its gonna be a good fishing day, I head down to the boat dock and choose kayak or my Ranger aluminum bass boat then head out. If the weather is not good..... there's plenty of work to get done around here. If I go out and there are a gazillion boats out, sometimes I just turn around and head back. I tend to like Sunday afternoons, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday is when weekenders start showing up.

There's no need to be uncomfortable, just wait for the perfect day. It's what most of us retirees do.

Biden famously said in the New York Observer, “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”
