The dealerships are just as bad. I bought a Lincoln with a 40,000 / 4 year warranty. The finance guy tried for 15 minutes to sell me a $3,000 extended warranty. After I threatened to walk on the deal he shut up and finished all the paper work.

I bought a Tacoma and got the hard sell on the warranty. I told him that if I thought I needed it I would not buy the vehicle. Then he in went in to why do you think we have a shop out back. I said maybe to fix Prius. Then he offered a lower interest rate. I asked if he would have offered the rate without the warranty. He said sure. I said fine I will take it. When he started his hard sell again I told him to get the keys for my trade. I ended up getting the sales director involved. Last truck I bought I told the finance guy up front not to even say the word warranty. He tried a different tactic and tried to add on some bogus fee.
