So I get all these calls for "Last chance to renew my car warranty before they close my file."
If I actually answer and tell them to go ahead and close my file, will they quit calling.....just wondering.

I hate those stupid things. I have to answer my phone because my number is plastered all over campus so people can make appointments...I block the numbers from these warranty idiots and they still get through. I'm 8100 miles into my 100,000 mile warranty on my new Sonata. I don't need these people calling me. On a completely unrelated note, does anyone have Derek's number?

Tell them that you haven't owned that car in 5 years and they'll quit calling, on that car at least....

I do not answer any call with a number I do not recognize. If they leave a solicitating message, I block them. Currently have 237 blocked numbers on my iPhone. Drives me crazy, very annoying.

Tmobile has a free app that blocks 99.9% of them, every now and then one of their spoofed numbers gets thru but if you wait for the prompt they give you an opt out, last one was push 2 to be removed from our list.

I get them all day, every day. I wish one would call and offer me a warranty on my 17 yr old Yamaha outboard so I could screw em back!

as bigrebar mentioned - don't answer a caller that's not in your contact register and (in your message) advise the caller that you will respond as soon as possible.

Most won't leave a message so you can mark them as SPAM and the next time they call it will be rejected.

When I feel like messing with them, I'll start by trying to get them to tell me what kind of car I have. They should know that, right? Then I let them go a bit, then sound all happy that they are going to offer a warranty on my beat up old 64 Plymouth. They hang up then.

I take all calls, and I will talk to everyone who cares to call me. To do otherwise is disrespectful. If they are not welcome callers, it is more efficient for them to put me on their do not call list than me putting them on mine. In order for that to happen, you have to go deep into the most cringe worthy questions as possible with them. You have to have no fear, you have to do it without laughing, you have to make it as uncomfortable as humanly possible. If the other people in the room with you are not begging you to just hang up, you are not doing it right. Make them not want to call you again. If you must hang up, you are still fair game.

Mine come in spurts. I block every one I get put they just switch numbers. I got a text from a house flipper today. I replied that when my house is for sale it will be listed then I blocked him. Maybe I should start answering the car warranty ones and lead them on and then tell them I own a Toyota so I don't need their stinking warranty.

They will call forever and you will never get it to end.

Just ignore callers you do not know!

IF I take a call and it turns out to be telemarketer, I go straight to the gutter...if it’s a girl I always ask what’s she’s wearing and that her voice is hot....etc, etc, doesn’t take much and they are gone, but one caller actually went with it and well.....that’s a whole different post....LOL

block one number and the computer calls again with one different number. wish i knew...
