I will be interested in seeing if the Mega Live lives up to the hopes that it will be as good as LS or better. gumshoe

I'm in line for two helix mega+ 12's and mega 360. Will wait to see how good mega live turns out to be. Switching to Humminbird because of mega 360.

I'm hearing some rumors they are having software issues and it could be 3-4 months before those in the very front of the line get units. The rest of us could be much longer. Does anyone know if a single prototype is on a boat that doesn't belong to the Humminbird research team?

I was speaking with my Rep about the Mega Live and he told me they would be out in March.

He also said he thought that HB would surprise a lot of people with this unit with the clarity and easy to use.

If it does anything like there SI or DI you know it will be AWESOME.

Cant Wait to get my hands on one.

....or if it’s anything like the gen 1 Helix units, you’ll be giving them away after you save up to buy new ones that actually have a quality image. roflmao

We'll see, in the meantime a mega 360 unit next to a livescope up front is all you need.

I have a Helix 10 at the bow and the console. I'm adding livescope and a Garmin GPSmap 1022. Graph is $1,200 and livescope is $1,500 but Garmin has a $200 rebate on the livescope now until March 31st. I bought the livescope at Academy and used my Academy card and got $75 off of it. So I'm at $2,425 plus tax and I will add a mount and battery. You could also get a 9" graph for around $900 instead of a 10" graph. A lot of the internet bass gurus and crappie fisherman have 9" graphs and are doing great with them. I might add 360 later but I already have side scan on my Helix. I know it's not the same as the 360 but I can locate structure with it.

Yea they also told me I would have my Helix, Solix and Apex in January. I’ve got 4 units on a 40 unit order so far. When no one has one yet to even test or play with. Had to beleive there gonna throw them to the market without a few Pros having them.

I really like the mega 360 aspect of it all so I'm waiting to see what their live looks like.

I have a Helix 12 mega gen 3. I don’t have a 360 transducer but it is 360 capable I think

Will I be able to add a mega live to it?

It makes sense to go all Humminbird if you're upgrading systems now. Once their Mega Live is available, they should have the best network of sonar options. While I hope to have it by the end of the year, I'm not buying Mega Live until I get a look at the images. There will almost certainly be hardware/software issues to service/update to the early units. Not a shot at Humminbird; Lowrance is dealing with the same with their forward imaging.
